THIS is a place for you
We are a volunteer horse group with members in the Colorado Springs, South Denver, Penrose, Pueblo, Westcliffe area who enjoy horse trail riding and trail clearing work in the Colorado back-country. We can show you which trails to ride, how to be safe on a trail ride with your horse, how to camp an overnight with your equine on the trail and how to support Colorado trail maintenance with your equine. We'll even provide people to ride with.
Can't currently ride? Enjoy being outside but more in a scouting capacity? Or of course if you love clearing horse-stopping logs there's plenty of space for that too. All BCH chapters perform work BUT there are so many different ways to contribute to your equine community! Join the volunteer efforts to keep the outdoors accessible for equestrians and all our friendly outdoor groups.
We work to educate our members and the public on equine safety, Leave No Trace principals, and back country horse trail access.
We promote common sense use of the outdoors for all through trail rides and intro to back country skills on your horse.
We conserve outdoor spaces and trails for equine use through legislation and local community involvement.
Our chapter is 100% volunteer, non-profit chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of America. We support any area of Colorado where our members are -where YOU are. Colorado Springs, South of Denver, Monument, Pueblo, Calhan, Canon City, Westcliffe, Florence, Trinidad, Pikes Peak region, Sangre de Christo, Cucharras, Spanish Peaks are some of the places we have members. We are a chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Colorado and BCHA and Trails are Common Ground. Find out more about us
